Gombe Assembly passes bill on HIV/AIDS Agency

Gombe State House of Assembly has passed into law, a Bill establishing the state's HIV and AIDS Control Agency. It would be recalled that the passage of the Bill was sequel to the recommendation of the House Joint Comitteee on Health, Inter-Governmental Affairs and Special Duties. Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Yahaya Malleri, said the agency was vested with the responsibility of designing and implementing the State Action plan for the prevention and control of HIV and AIDS. He said the Agency would also provide technical support to Line Ministries, Non governmental organisations, charity based and faith based organisations in the control of HIV and AIDS
