Adamawa now highest in HIV epidemic-Prof Aminu

Adamawa State now ranks as the highest in HIV/AIDS cases in the country, the Senator representing Adamawa Central, Professor Jubril Aminu has disclosed.Senator Aminu, a renowned Cardiologist, spoke in Yola, Tuesday when he received a group of clergymen on the occasion of Christmas celebration.

He stated that the high ranking officers connected with the awareness of the HIV scourge gave him the privileged information about the dangerous position the state now occupy on the dreaded list.

According to him, the statistics made available to him, which he could not disclose, was real and authentic "there is no doubt about what the experts told me".

He therefore enjoined the clergymen to enlighten their followers of the danger hanging on the state and the entire sub-region.

"Please go to your places of worship and preach to our people of the dangers ahead of us over the HIV/AIDS scourge, or else the entire state will be in calamity in the nearest future, the senator regretted.

Aminu observed that the major problem facing Nigeria as a nation now is that majority of Christians and Muslims do not know their religions.

"We in Nigeria only practice our religion during politics, and that is why religious crises is now rampant in our society", he added.

Senator Jubril Aminu observed that religion and politics are two different things that do not come close to each other and warned adherence of all the religions and the political class to stop mixing the two for the sake of the corporate existence of the country.
