Tears flowed freely yesterday as the remains of the co-ordinator of Journalists Against AIDS (JAAID) , Mr. Omololu Falobi were committed to mother earth at Iwoye Ijesha in Oriade local government, Osun State.
Head of Research and Communication at JAAIDS Kingsley Obom-Egbulem in a tribute said the deceased "was too quiet to die in such a violent way". Everybody is depressed, what can we say. It is not only a loss to Nigeria, Falobi was a global person. He had affected so many lives positively and has equally created a gap in the war front of HIV/AIDS sector".
Many of the symphatizers wore black T-shirt marked "The vision lives on", wailing and bemoaning what they described as a "cheap death that needs to be thoroughly investigated. Obom-Egbulem said that Falobi's vision would remain a living one to save more lives of people not only in Nigeria but globally.
The younger brother of the deceased, Sanmi said Falobi Omololu was a symbol of equity, justice and fairness.
"He meant everything to us and different things to people globally. This was a man who believed in working hard and would always charge people to do so, we would miss him. "This is what we have been talking about. All these things that kill people here are terrible. Simply because of what to be done but left undone, we have lost a gem. It is a loss to the whole world," he noted.
